SHINE is the largest annual conference dedicated to social entrepreneurs in the UK.
TILT was commissioned to design a series of furniture prompts in the various event spaces using reclaimed and found materials. Our brief was to bring people together at this innovative conference. We created four installations designed to connect people and encourage them to discuss, exchange ideas and collaborate.
Made from old office furniture, the See Saw is a playful visual prompt to facilitate discussions of give/get, an essential topic to balance and leverage for any social entrepreneur.
The Rant Roll captures the spontaneous flow of ideas. The paper rolls down off the table during the days as a pile of ideas and thoughts accumulate on the floor, ready to be harvested and implemented.
The Checkers Bench, inspired by the classic kissing chair, is two offset seats with a small raised blackboard between the two. An informal place to meet new people while the conference delegates files past.
